Fontana Superintendent Miki Rene Inbody Announces Candidacy for San Bernardino County Board of Education, Trustee Area B

SAN BERNARDINO, CA, UNITED STATES, August 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Today, Miki Inbody, Superintendent of Fontana Unified School District, announced her campaign for the San Bernardino County Board of Education, Trustee Area B. A 35-year veteran of public education who rose from a Head Start student and first-generation college graduate to district superintendent, Inbody is running on a record of expanding opportunities for students and a commitment to thoughtful, collaborative leadership.

“After 35 years in public education, I have seen what is possible when experienced leaders listen, work together, and keep students at the center of every decision,” Inbody said. “I am running for the County Board of Education because our students and families deserve thoughtful leadership, responsible oversight, and a county board that works collaboratively with our local school districts.”

Inbody’s career has spanned nearly every role in public education, including teacher, dean, assistant principal, principal, district administrator, county education leader, and, since the 2022-2023 school year, Superintendent of Fontana Unified School District. As Inbody prepares to conclude her service as superintendent in December of the 2026-2027 school year, she is seeking to continue serving students by representing Trustee Area B on the San Bernardino County Board of Education.

Before leading Fontana Unified, Inbody served as an Assistant Superintendent with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, supporting districts across the county’s 33 school districts. That experience gave her a broad understanding of the diverse needs, priorities, and challenges facing school communities throughout San Bernardino County.

As Superintendent, Inbody delivered measurable results. She expanded Career Technical Education to 56 industry-aligned pathways, grew dual enrollment, and strengthened early literacy and student achievement. She led the passage of Measure I to modernize school facilities and maintain the district’s fiscal stability without resorting to employee layoffs. Her leadership earned recognition as Superintendent of the Year from both the Association of California School Administrators (Region 12) and the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators.

“Our county is home to many diverse communities, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to education,” Inbody said. “The County Board should respect local decision-making, support local school districts, and ensure public resources are used responsibly to benefit students and the communities we serve.”
