Lawyers Face Stronger AI Review Responsibilities Under New California Law
(Subscription required) Starting next year, California attorneys will be required to disclose when they use generative artificial intelligence to create documents submitted to a court, under legislation signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom this week. SB 574 will also bar arbitrators from delegating any part of their decision-making to a generative-AI tool, a restriction aimed at an emerging field in alternative dispute resolution.
